Coach Mano Polking wants the players to promptly lift their morale after the defeat to Selangor to aim for crucial objectives ahead.
On the evening of January 28, CAHN club suffered a 0-2 loss against Selangor (Malaysia) in the fourth round of the Shopee Cup 2025/26. This result officially eliminated the police-affiliated team early from the tournament.
After the match, Coach Mano Polking frankly stated:"I believe this was a good match between two quality teams. Games like this are always decided by small details."
Selangor took the initiative from the start in this encounter. From the first half, they leveraged their home advantage to apply continuous pressure, but Filip Nguyễn’s outstanding performance helped CAHN hold firm through the initial 45 minutes.
In the second half, CAHN nearly scored the opener in the 50th minute with a beautiful volley from Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh. However, the hope was quickly extinguished when Faisal Halim scored a rebound goal for Selangor in the 60th minute. At the 69th minute, taking advantage of CAHN’s defensive lapses, Faisal Halim completed his brace, securing a 2-0 victory for the home team.
According to Coach Mano Polking, CAHN needs to quickly move past this defeat to focus on upcoming matches, including the showdown against Ninh Bình club in the 12th round of the V-League on February 1:
"Right now, we really need to concentrate because this Sunday, we have an extremely important match at the V-League, where we have the chance to take the top spot in the standings. We need to forget about this tournament... that is the team’s focus from now on."
After exiting the Shopee Cup, CAHN still has two major competitions to look forward to: the V-League and the 2025/26 AFC Cup - where they have qualified for the round of 16.
