A series of players suspended for round 12 of the V-League

The V-League returns with round 12, but many teams will be without their strongest lineups as numerous key players face suspensions due to card penalties.

The 2025/26 V-League season will officially resume after the break with matches in round 12scheduled for this weekend. Before kickoff, the organizers announced the list of players suspended due to card sanctions, including 5 players who cannot participate, significantly impacting the squad plans of several clubs.

According to the organizers, all five mentioned players are banned from playing in round 12 because they have accumulated 3 yellow cards since the start of the season. This mandatory penalty, enforced immediately upon the league’s return, forces clubs to adjust their lineups accordingly.

The list of suspended players includes Onoja Joseph from Hà Tĩnh, Nguyễn Thành Chung (Hà Nội FC), Đinh Viết Tú (Thể Công Viettel), Nguyễn Hồng Phúc (Đà Nẵng), and Nguyễn Văn Vĩ (Nam Định). All of these players play vital roles in their teams’ tactics, especially in defense and midfield.

The simultaneous absence of multiple key players is expected to pose significant challenges for coaches preparing for round 12. Teams must carefully plan suitable replacements to maintain squad balance, especially as the league standings enter a crucial phase.

Not only players, but round 12 also features a case of a coach being banned from the technical area. Coach Alexandre Polking of CAHN club will not be allowed to lead directly because he has accumulated 3 yellow cards since the season began, adding pressure on the coaching staff.
