At the 2025 Victory Cup gala night, Nguyễn Đình Bắc became the center of attention when his name was announced in the category honoring outstanding young faces in Vietnamese sports.
On the evening of January 29, the Victory Cup awards gala was held in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, gathering the most prominent figures in Vietnamese sports in 2025. Among them, forward Nguyễn Đình Bắc attracted much attention when his name was called in the category Young Athlete of the Year 2025, a well-deserved award for a brilliant and impressive year of competition.
The striker born in 2004 had an explosive season wearing the jersey of Vietnam’s youth teams, playing a key role in many important achievements. He was a standout member of the U23 Vietnam team that won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, helped the U22 Vietnam team secure the Gold Medal at SEA Games 33, and left a strong mark at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship with the top scorer title and a historic Bronze Medal.
During the moment of recognition on the Victory Cup stage, Đình Bắc could not hide his emotions. He shared: "I am very happy and extremely proud to receive the prestigious Young Athlete of the Year 2025 award at the Victory Cup gala. First of all, I want to thank the leaders of Hanoi Police Club, the coaching staff, and my teammates who have always trusted, accompanied, and encouraged me to perform well at the club.
Let me also express my gratitude to the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation, the coaching staff, and my fellow players who have continuously supported me throughout the past year in the U22 Vietnam, U23 Vietnam, and national teams.
This award will boost my confidence and motivate me to train hard so that I can give my best contribution to Vietnamese football."
Also, during the interaction at the gala, Đình Bắc shared his aspirations for the new year: “I believe all athletes, both those who came before us and our current generation, share similar goals because we all fight for the common purpose of our country.
Personally, I hope in 2026 to work hard to regularly play for Hanoi Police Club and the Vietnam national team to contribute to the nation’s football..”
Notably, Đình Bắc also revealed that the most memorable moment of 2025 for him was placing a helmet on Coach Kim Sang-sik after the SEA Games 33 final. Đình Bắc shared: "The helmet is widely used in Vietnam. Since Coach Kim Sang-sik is a foreigner, I wanted to give him the helmet as a warm gesture from the Vietnamese people to a foreigner working here, all for the common goal of the team.”
Also at the 2025 Victory Cup ceremony, Coach Kim Sang-sik was honored as the Best Foreign Expert of the Year. Meanwhile, the Team of the Year award went to the U22 Vietnam team, the group that excellently won the SEA Games 33 Gold Medal, with two representatives, Khuất Văn Khang and Nguyễn Đình Bắc, receiving the award.
