In the absence of Manchester United, Manchester United injured 3 goalkeepers in a row, and the 7th goalkeeper became a substitute! Onana was secretly having fun

In the fourth round of the FA Cup between Manchester United and Leicester City, Turkey international Altay Baindier, who was supposed to start, was nowhere to be seen, with Andrei Onana in the main goalkeeper and Hubert Graczyk on the bench.

The 21-year-old was a United player who joined from Arsenal last summer, but he is nowhere near as well known as fellow Danish centre-forward Chetdo Obi-Martin, or even Edon Haven, another Arsenal player who was also on the bench in the FA Cup, who joined in the January winter transfer window for ยฃ1.5 million.

It is not surprising that Graczyk is not taken seriously, as he is a player who has been abandoned by Arsenal and has been a "sparring partner" since joining Manchester United on a free basis. If you have to sort it, the Polish goalkeeper born in 2003 is the Red Devils' seventh goalkeeper! However, as fate would have it, with injuries to his team-mates or other match assignments, Graczyk was able to become a substitute goalkeeper for the first team's official matches.

Interestingly, Manchester United's second goalkeeper Baindil, who saved two penalties in a row against Grachick's former club Arsenal in the FA Cup last round, was supposed to be the main player in this cup game, but he suffered a minor injury and was unable to play. No. 3 goalkeeper and 38-year-old veteran Tom Heaton is also exempt due to injury.

Another substitute goalkeeper from United's youth system, Dermot me, has trained with United's first-team squad on a number of occasions but he was injured earlier and has been sidelined since the end of December and has not been able to play.

In the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace, Amorim deployed two goalkeepers on the bench and did not use Marcus Rashford, who was joined by Elyh Harrison, who had been recalled from Chester on loan. However, Harrison has already played cup games for the loan team and is no longer available for Manchester United.

Manchester United also have one of the more well-known Academy goalkeepers, Radek Vitek, who made a number of spectacular saves against Norway's Rosenborg in pre-season and has spent the season on loan at Austrian club Linz.

Teammates were either injured or unable to play, and Graczyk was able to make his first appearance in United's first-team matchday squad. In the absence of Heaton and Dermot Mee last month, Graccik played as a sparring partner in the pre-match warm-ups against Arsenal, Southampton and Brighton. Since the 2016/17 season, United have been accustomed to using three goalkeepers in their pre-match warm-ups, one of whom will not be in the squad for most of the time.

Academy goalkeeper Will Murdock took on that role for the FA Cup tie against Leicester City, assisting goalkeeping coaches Jorge Vital and Craig Mawson. The 17-year-old is a regular in United's under-18 squad and is expected to start on Wednesday at the Leaf Sports Village for Chelsea, a key match in the United's FA Youth Cup.

Graczyk's only few appearances in his career came last season on loan for Slough Town in the National League. He may not have expected to be in the Manchester United squad for the game, with Onana, who has been in a slump of form lately, the only one stealing the fun, and the fans originally wanted Amorim to change the goalkeeper, but now Onana has no opponents. Naturally, the Red Devils' sparring goalkeeper cannot pose any threat to his main position, unless the 28-year-old Cameroon international is injured himself.

Onana has only missed one game since joining Manchester United, away to Newport in the FA Cup last season, because he was playing in the Africa Cup of Nations, not through injury. Amorim is expected to provide an update on the injuries to Badill and Heaton at his pre-match press conference later this week.
