What did the Thai futsal coach say after the big win over Vietnam?

At the post-match press conference following the ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship 2026 semi-final, head coach Thanathorn Santhanaprasit expressed his satisfaction as the Thai women's futsal team secured a 4-2 victory over Vietnam to earn a spot in the final. Their opponent in the championship match will be Australia.

Coach Thanathorn also acknowledged that his team faced difficult moments against the opponent's aggressive play.

"We had a rather difficult period in the match, and I tried to encourage the players to compete more fiercely. Because whenever we lost focus, it gave Vietnam the opportunity to play better and gain more confidence. And when we scored to take the lead, we changed our formation."

Regarding the squad situation, the tactician stated that most injury cases were not too serious and the players could return in time for the final match.

"For the players injured during the match, those who went down and had to leave the pitch. If the injury is not severe, they can return to play. Currently, only Sasikant Thongdee has not fully recovered."

Furthermore, he pointed out an area the team needs to improve before the final, particularly their finishing in front of goal.

"After this match, I need to focus on better finishing because we missed many chances, which made certain periods of the game difficult."

Assessing the opponent Australia, the Thai head coach was cautious, stating it would be a major challenge in the race for the championship.

"The next match is against Australia. They are a strong team. Today they faced Indonesia, played a half-court game, and performed well in front of goal. We must be careful."

The upcoming final is predicted to be very tense as Thailand aims for the championship, while Australia has also shown impressive form since the start of the tournament.
