Nam Dinh has officially registered forward Chadrac Akolo for the second leg of the 2025/2026 V-League after a period of waiting.
The Blue Steel Club Nam Dinh has completed the registration procedures for forward Chadrac Akolo for the second leg of the V-League 2025/2026. After the waiting period, the striker from the Democratic Republic of the Congo has finally been officially added to the playing roster, raising hopes of strengthening the attacking power for the Nam Dinh team.
Previously, Akolo was announced as a new signing for Nam Dinh in early October last year with a three-year contract. He was initially planned to be registered for international competitions such as the AFC Champions League Two 2025/2026 and the ASEAN Club Championship 2025/2026, but due to various reasons, the forward has not yet made his debut in these two tournaments.
In fact, the player born in 1995 was registered in early February and made his first appearance in Nam Dinh's 0-1 loss to The Cong Viettel, playing for 45 minutes. This is considered an important preparatory step for Akolo to get accustomed to the Vietnamese football environment before entering the crucial phase of the season.
Standing at 1.72m tall, Akolo is not physically imposing but impresses with his speed, technique, and finishing ability. His transfer value of 750,000 Euros somewhat reflects the caliber of the forward who has competed in several European leagues.
Akolo began his professional career at FC Sion in 2014, scoring 18 goals in 58 matches. He played for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, and later for Amiens SC and SC Paderborn 07. His most stable period was at FC St. Gallen, where he made 100 appearances and scored 27 goals.
At the national team level, Akolo debuted for the DR Congo national team in 2017 and has made 15 appearances, scoring 2 goals. His official registration to play in the V-League marks a new chapter in the 30-year-old striker's career and demonstrates Nam Dinh's significant ambitions in this season's title race.
