Coach Mai Duc Chung: 'Vietnam Women's Team is fully prepared in all aspects'

Coach Mai Duc Chung stated that the Vietnam Women's Team is well-prepared for their opening match in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Finals.

At the press conference before the matches of the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals, head coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed the Vietnam Women's Team has thoroughly prepared and is ready to face the challenges in Group C.

On behalf of the entire team, Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed gratitude to the Asian Football Confederation and Football Australia for their thoughtful hospitality, providing favorable conditions for accommodation, training facilities, and organizational arrangements. "We are very satisfied with the preparations and support from the Organizing Committee. At this point, the team is fully prepared in all aspects," he shared.

Assessing Group C, Coach Mai Duc Chung noted that this group includes strong opponents such as Japan, India, and Chinese Taipei. "Not only Group C, but all groups in this Finals are very strong. Every participating team deserves to be here. Therefore, the Vietnam Women's Team will have to give their utmost effort, focusing on each match individually,"the head coach emphasized.

The experienced coach also expressed his joy at competing in Australia – a co-host of the 2023 Women's World Cup. He mentioned that the favorable weather conditions and the enthusiastic support from the large Vietnamese community here will be a great encouragement for the whole team. "We will strive to perform our best according to what we have practiced, following the coaching staff's requirements. In football, nothing can be predicted, but facing strong opponents only motivates us to be more determined," Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.

Meanwhile, captain Huynh Nhu also spoke highly of the Organizing Committee's hospitality: "We are pleased with the accommodation, training conditions, and the weather here. The whole team is in good spirits and physical condition."

Sharing about her role, Huynh Nhu said she always adheres to the training plans set by the coaching staff at both the club and national team levels. "The coaches understand the physical condition of each player to develop suitable training programs, helping the whole team achieve their best form. With my experience, I always try to share and support the younger players. Whether at the club or national team level, the ultimate goal is the collective achievement of the team."
