African foreign players suffer shocking defeat in Vietnamese village tournament final

Even with a prominent lineup of African footballers, Noi Chua FC failed to win the village competition final, which offered a 1.5 billion VND reward.

In recent days, social media has been buzzing over images of an amateur football team featuring players with exceptional physiques, impressive height, and great stamina. At first glance, many mistook them for a squad preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations or even the World Cup. However, they were actually participating in a distinctly local event: a village festival tournament.

That team is Noi Chua FC, which competed in the 2026 Traditional Tournament of Dinh Lang Chua Noi Dong (in the former Bac Giang area). What stands out is that their roster includes several African players, whose physical stature is remarkable compared to the average standard of local amateur football.

A group photo of Noi Chua FC spread rapidly online. The obvious physical disparity between the foreign players and the rest led netizens to humorously remark that the team "brought an entire World Cup squad to play in a village festival." This unusual and rare element generated special excitement for the final match.

However, advantages in physique and stamina were not enough to secure victory. In the final held on March 2, Noi Chua FC lost 1-2 to Ha Anh City. This result surprised many, as the team with foreign reinforcements had been highly rated for their physical power.

The match attracted attention not only for its quality of play but also for its viral popularity on social media. Reports indicate the showdown attracted up to 65,000 live views on digital platforms—an impressive number for a village-level competition.

The victory earned Ha Anh City a championship bonus of up to 1.5 billion VND. Meanwhile, despite having several African players and creating a media sensation, Noi Chua FC had to settle for second place. This story once again shows that in football, tactical elements and team cohesion can sometimes outweigh physical advantages.
