Despite Salah scoring, Liverpool still lost to the bottom team in the Premier League.

In the 29th round of the Premier League at Molineux Stadium early on March 4, Wolverhampton defeated Liverpool 2-1.

Coach Arne Slot's team faced difficulties in their away match against Wolves, the team at the bottom of the Premier League table. Although rated higher, Liverpool struggled to break through Wolves' defense in the first 45 minutes.

Salah went down in the box in the 6th minute but did not receive a penalty. Liverpool had 6 shots in the first half but failed to score against the home team. The first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Liverpool increased the pressure. Despite having only over 30% possession, Wolves surprisingly took the lead. In the 78th minute, Rodrigo Gomes scored following a quick counter-attack by the home team. Arokodare passed the ball to Gomes, who broke through. Despite being marked by a Liverpool player, Gomes accurately shot past goalkeeper Alisson.

However, the home team's lead lasted only 5 minutes. After several attempts, Liverpool equalized in the 83rd minute. Salah scored with a decisive shot after dribbling into the box.

Just when it seemed the Egyptian striker's goal would inspire Liverpool to secure 3 away points, Wolves delivered a second blow to Coach Arne Slot's team in the 90+4th minute. Andre scored to make it 2-1 after a pass from Tchatchoua.

Tchatchoua intercepted a pass from goalkeeper Alisson and passed to Andre. The latter dribbled near the edge of the box and took a shot. The ball deflected off Gomez and went into the net, leaving Alisson helpless. This goal sealed the match result.

With this loss, Liverpool has not closed the gap with the Top 4. They remain in 5th place with 48 points. The 3rd and 4th placed teams, MU and Aston Villa, both have 51 points and could extend their lead over Liverpool if they win this round.
