Vietnamese national team striker speaks candidly before decisive Asian Cup match

Striker Pham Hai Yen stated that the victory over India has boosted the confidence of the Vietnamese women's national team ahead of their encounter with Chinese Taipei in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup.

The victory over India in the opening match provided a favorable start for the Vietnamese women's national team in the group stage of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup. Not only did it give the team an advantage in points, this result also provided a crucial morale boost before Coach Mai Duc Chung and his squad entered the subsequent matches of the tournament.

Before the match between the Vietnamese women's national team and the Chinese Taipei women's national team in the next round of Group C in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup final stage, striker Pham Hai Yen said the entire team is maintaining a very positive spirit. According to the veteran striker of the national team, the recent victory has helped the players gain more confidence and prepare for the next challenge in their tournament journey.

“I have been part of the national team since 2011 and have learned a lot from Coach Mai Duc Chung as well as my teammates. Currently, I am assigned a role in the team's leadership group, so I always try to support and guide the younger players so that together with the whole team we aim for the goal of winning in each match.”Hai Yen said.
