Spreading the inspiration of women's football on International Women's Day March 8

On March 6, at the Can Tho City Stadium, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) collaborated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Education and Training, and the Can Tho City Football Federation to organize an exchange program in response to the AFC Women's Football Day 2026.

This is the first time the AFC Women's Football Day 2026 has been held in Can Tho. The event holds special significance in celebrating International Women's Day March 8, contributing to honoring the beauty, confidence, and aspirations of women through football.

Attending the program were representatives from VFF, leaders of various departments and sectors, along with the participation of 150 female athletes from primary schools across Can Tho City. The presence of these "young players" created a lively, energetic, and inspiring atmosphere.

AFC Women's Football Day is an annual initiative of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), implemented widely across member countries to promote the development of women's football, while affirming the role and status of women in sports and in social life. Not only is it a platform for exchange, learning, and skill training, the event also helps nurture passion and boost confidence for girls to boldly pursue their dreams.

For the first time held in Can Tho, the Festival offered a series of diverse activities such as football exchanges, basic skill training, and collective movement games under the guidance of coaches and instructors. Through this, students not only experienced the joy of playing with the ball but were also inspired by the spirit of unity, the will to overcome challenges, and an active, positive lifestyle.

On this occasion, VFF presented 20 footballs and 150 sets of sports uniforms to primary school students. These practical gifts not only help improve training conditions but also demonstrate care and investment for the long-term development of women's football from the school-age level.

Through the AFC Women's Football Day 2026, the image of confident, dynamic young female players on the pitch has become a beautiful symbol for the new generation of Vietnamese women – courageous, healthy, and daring to pursue their passions.
