Tiến Linh speaks out about Coach Kim Sang Sik as his performance hits rock bottom.

Forward Nguyễn Tiến Linh frankly admits his disappointment at not yet rediscovering his scoring touch in V.League 1. The striker for Ho Chi Minh City Police Club says he is striving to improve his form to help the team navigate a crucial phase of the season.

Speaking after the match, forward Nguyễn Tiến Linh could not hide his regret as he once again missed scoring opportunities in V.League 1. The Ho Chi Minh City Police Club striker shared candidly: "Linh himself feels quite disappointed because there were many chances that he failed to capitalize on. However, he still needs to work even harder to regain his best form.."

Nevertheless, he added: "In the coming period, HCMC Police Club will enter an extremely important stage, and Linh will need to improve his performance to help the club reach its goals.".

Tiến Linh's regret is understandable.This striker has endured a rather long period without scoring in domestic competitions. His last goal in V.League occurred back in Round 5 of the 2025 season, in the match against Sông Lam Nghệ An on September 27, 2025. Since then, the striker who has often competed for the league's "Golden Boot" title has yet to add another goal.

A goal drought stretching over five months has increased pressure on Tiến Linh, especially as the national team's gathering period approaches. In the recent match at Thống Nhất Stadium, Vietnam's head coach Kim Sang-sik was also present in the stands to directly observe the players' performances.

The presence of the Korean strategist clearly provided significant motivation for the players competing in V.League. Tiến Linh also acknowledged this when discussing Coach Kim Sang-sik watching the match.

He shared: "Coach Kim's presence here also creates motivation for many domestic players who are playing in V-League. It's an opportunity for players to impress the national team head coach. Not only Linh but all players are eager to showcase themselves."

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Club striker affirmed: "Today, the whole team performed well. Tiến Linh and the entire team must strive even harder to achieve a good result in this year's season.".
