The Chinese men's mixed team entered the final! Qin Haiyang recovery + Pan Zhanle chased wildly, 0.22 seconds behind France in second place

On the evening of August 3, Beijing time, a number of preliminaries for swimming at the Paris Olympics continued. In the men's 4x100m medley relay preliminaries, the Chinese team ranked second in the group with a time of 3:51.58, and advanced to the final with the second overall score in the preliminaries.

In this preliminary round, the Chinese team sent a lineup of Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Wang Changhao and Pan Zhanle, which won the runner-up in the 2023 World Championships. However, in this Olympic Games, Qin Haiyang and Wang Changhao did not play their best in their respective breaststroke and butterfly events, which also made people question the lineup arrangement of this relay.

In the men's 4x100m medley relay preliminaries, the Chinese team was placed in lane 4 of Group 1, with Austria, Japan, Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland and Switzerland. China's biggest opponent is undoubtedly the France team led by Marchand.

In the first backstroke, Xu Jiayu, who opened the baton, lived up to expectations and was in the lead after coming out of the water, but was overtaken by France in the second half, with a time of 53.58 seconds, the second to the side.

In the second breaststroke, Qin Haiyang, who was in a recovering state, surpassed the host ace Marchand to take the lead after entering the water. In the second half, after Qin Haiyang was overtaken, he lost to Marchand by 0.07 seconds to the second side, with a time of 58.51 seconds.

In the third butterfly, Wang Changhao was still in second place, and was overtaken by the Netherlands in the second half of the race, finishing third in the group with a time of 51.75 seconds.

In the fourth freestyle, Pan Zhanle entered the water and frantically chased the leading France runner, and after 50 meters, Pan Zhanle chased the second place in the group, and successfully reached the side for the second time, with a time of 47.74 seconds.

In the end, the Chinese men's mixed relay team finished second overall, 0.22 seconds behind, and advanced to the final after France, where China will be in lane 5. In addition, strong opponents such as the United States, United Kingdom and Australia also successfully advanced to the finals.
