Manchester United's signing of Tonali requires at least £80 million! Casemiro may transfer to the United States, automatic renewal clause voided.

Although Casemiro is indispensable in Manchester United's matches and often scores crucial goals, the future of this 34-year-old Brazilian veteran remains unchanged—he will still leave the team after his contract expires this summer. When announcing his departure from Old Trafford at the end of this season in January, "Fat Tiger" had already reached an agreement with the Red Devils, voiding the automatic renewal clause originally in the contract.

According to the original clause, if Casemiro started 35 Premier League matches in his final season at the club, the contract would automatically extend for one year. There are now 7 Premier League rounds remaining, and he has already started exactly 28 matches and substituted once. If he starts all upcoming matches, he will meet the renewal criteria.

However, the Manchester Evening News reported that when reaching an agreement with Manchester United to announce his departure early, Casemiro also agreed to cancel the relevant clause, allowing him to participate in all matches during his final phase at the club.

British media revealed that Manchester United had already informed Casemiro earlier this season that his £350,000-per-week contract would not be renewed. By early 2026, the Brazilian national team player decided to announce this news ahead of time and received the club's consent.

Because if the clause remained effective and Manchester United did not wish to renew, they would have to passively arrange Casemiro as a substitute in some matches to avoid starting 35 games and triggering the automatic renewal clause. Both sides believed this unnecessary and that Carrick should freely choose the starting lineup.

Currently, Casemiro has started 14 consecutive matches. Unless injuries, suspensions occur, or Manchester United secures a Champions League spot early, Fat Tiger will remain in the starting lineup for the remaining matches. After all, if he does not play, only Ugarte can replace him.

When Casemiro scored for Manchester United, fans shouted for him to play another year, reconsidering the decision not to renew. However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's management team's stance will not change; they are already seeking replacements.

On the other hand, it is reported that Casemiro is also close to reaching an agreement on transfer matters; he has been free to negotiate with overseas clubs since January.

MLS teams are among Fat Tiger's popular destinations. The British Daily Mail disclosed that Miami International, founded by Beckham and where Messi plays, has contacted him to discuss the possibility of joining this summer. Last month, Casemiro vacationed in Miami, sparking related speculation. Additionally, Los Angeles Galaxy is a strong competitor, having previously signed Beckham and Ibrahimovic.

Miami International renewed Messi's contract until 2028, and they also need to find a replacement for Busquets, who is nearing retirement. However, Casemiro's salary is unacceptable for American clubs; he will have to reduce his wages to avoid violating MLS salary cap rules, as the team's three high-salary player slots are already filled.

Reports indicate that Casemiro enjoyed a pleasant vacation with his family in Miami and told friends he would like to move there, as it is closer to home and offers good income.

The Daily Mail stated that Manchester United has begun scouting replacements for Casemiro and considers Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton as the top three recruitment targets. However, these players are all expensive.

Newcastle has accepted the possibility of losing Tonali this summer, but they will still demand at least £80 million in transfer fees. The 25-year-old Italian national team player performs steadily at St James' Park and rarely gets injured, missing only 4 Premier League matches over the past two seasons.

In 2023, the "Magpies" spent £55 million to sign Tonali from AC Milan, so his price cannot be much lower. talkSPORT radio reported that if possible, Tonali would prefer to return to Serie A, but Newcastle's asking price makes his return to Italy nearly impossible.

The 23-year-old English national team player Anderson has long been regarded by Manchester United as an ideal signing, and his price will range between £80 million and £100 million. Moreover, the biggest issue is that he is a Manchester City fan and would prefer to join the rival of the Red Devils. Correspondent Andy Mitten expressed surprise if Anderson ultimately transfers to Manchester United.

Mitten explained: "I would be surprised if Anderson comes. I hope he really joins Manchester United, but there are too many competitors for his signing. His situation is ideal; both Manchester clubs want to sign him. Manchester United just needs to act decisively and not place all hopes on one player."

The last player on the list, Wharton, has also become less popular as Crystal Palace's performance declines. Recent British media reported that Manchester United hopes to sign this 22-year-old English player for £50 million to £60 million. Wharton has been included in Tuchel's 35-player England team selection list; signing a British national team player at the above price would offer good value.
