FIFA honors the Thai Football Association and President Madam Pang as Thailand becomes the first Asian country to host the FIFA Women's Series 2026.
FIFA published an article praising Madam Pang as Thailand becomes the first Asian country to host the FIFA Women's Series 2026, starting on April 12.
The Thai Football Association has a close relationship with FIFA, as both organizations have collaborated on various aspects of football development. The Thai Football Association and FIFA have jointly organized numerous projects, both grassroots and high-level, aiming to promote and develop professionalism in the long term.
Hosting the FIFA Series 2026 this year is another significant milestone for Thailand, as this is the first time FIFA organizes a tournament in Thailand since the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup. Mrs. Pang Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Thai Football Association, stated:
"The Thai Football Association thanks FIFA for recognizing the potential of the Thai Football Association and Thailand, by granting us the right to host the first FIFA Women's Series tournament this year."
"And this is the first country in Asia to achieve this. Certainly, the opportunity to host a tournament in the FIFA Series helps elevate and advance Thailand's football infrastructure in many aspects, especially improving and upgrading training facilities and stadiums to international standards, and increasing opportunities to host more international football tournaments in the future.
The Thai women's national football team has made history by participating in two Women's World Cups, and now proudly hosts the tournament alongside three other countries: Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and New Caledonia, in Ratchaburi province, western Thailand.
Madam Pang believes such a tournament is rare and provides invaluable experience. "As mentioned, this is a precious opportunity granted by FIFA, where the Thai women's team will compete against opponents from different continents.
