Hanoi Police Club has officially announced the contract extension with center-back Bui Hoang Viet Anh, retaining the defensive pillar until the end of 2028.
Born in 1999, Bui Hoang Viet Anh is one of the top center-backs in Vietnamese football today. Before joining Hanoi Police in the summer of 2023, he had an impressive period playing for Hanoi FC. Here, Viet Anh quickly proved his worth by adequately replacing pillars like Do Duy Manh or Tran Dinh Trong when the team faced squad difficulties.
Previously, the Thai Binh-born player also played a major role in helping Hong Linh Ha Tinh win the 2019 National First Division championship, thereby earning promotion to V.League. Solid career progress at the club level laid the foundation for Viet Anh to develop and become one of the most reliable center-backs.
Not only successful at club level, Bui Hoang Viet Anh is also a familiar face in national team colors. He was called up by coach Park Hang-seo to the U23 Vietnam team for the 2020 AFC U23 Asian Cup, before making his national team debut in 2022 in a 3-1 win over China at My Dinh. Since then, Viet Anh has regularly been included in Vietnam national team gatherings.
Regarding achievements, the 1999-born center-back possesses an impressive trophy list. He won the V.League 2 championship in 2019 with Hong Linh Ha Tinh; clinched the V.League 1 title in 2022 with Hanoi FC, and also won 2 National Cups (2020, 2022) and 2 National Super Cups (2020, 2022). In the colors of Hanoi Police, Viet Anh further added to his collection with the 2024–25 National Cup and 2025 National Super Cup championships.
At the national team level, he won the SEA Games 2021 gold medal and the 2022 U23 Southeast Asia championship with U23 Vietnam, before continuing to triumph in the ASEAN Cup 2024 with the Vietnam national team. Additionally, Viet Anh was also honored as the Best Young Player of V.League 2020 and the 2020 Best Young Player by VPF.
The contract extension until 2028 demonstrates the great trust Hanoi Police Club places in Bui Hoang Viet Anh. With experience, composure, and stable performance, this center-back is expected to continue being a solid defensive anchor, while helping the capital city team conquer more trophies in the future.
