"I did not have enough information about the team and the players. When I arrived, Hoang Duc was injured. Therefore, I discussed with Mr. Thanh and we agreed to give Hoang Duc a chance to play in the next match, because if he gets injured again, the situation would be very serious. That is the reason he rested in this match.

I am here to work in two roles. First is the head coach role, and second, I am a fitness coach. That is why I wanted to assist in the warm-up process, and then work together throughout the entire match preparation process.

Before the decisive match against U17 Vietnam, good news arrived for U17 Indonesia. Coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto confirmed that the players' morale is gradually recovering after being heavily affected by the loss to Malaysia.

The match against Vietnam will be a survival battle for U17 Indonesia in the 2026 Southeast Asia U17 Championship. The result of this match will determine whether Indonesia can advance or must stop early.

Kurniawan revealed reports from the psychology team showing positive signals. The players' mental state was assessed as ready to return for competition.
