Round 15 of the First Division: Momentum for the Promotion Race

Round 15 of the 2025/26 First Division National Championship saw the championship battle and the top spots grow more intense as the candidates repeatedly made significant breakthroughs.

Round 15 of the 2025/26 National First Division League observed notable developments, creating important momentum before the season entered its crucial phase. As the competition on the standings heats up, every point now carries decisive meaning for the ambitions of the clubs.

After stumbling with a 0-0 draw against Dong Thap in round 14, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai quickly reaffirmed the mettle of the league leaders. Returning home to host Quang Ninh, Coach Viet Thang's team played dominantly and secured a convincing 3-0 victory. This result not only helped them solidify their top position but also somewhat relieved pressure during this tense competitive period.

With 35 points after 15 rounds, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai is creating a 6-point gap over the team behind them. Meanwhile, Bac Ninh climbed to the 2nd position after a narrow 1-0 victory over Dong Thap. Although they do not possess an explosive attack like their direct competitors, stability and efficiency have helped this team maintain its place in the leading group.

On the other hand, Quy Nhon United showed signs of slowing down after their previous streak of impressive performances. The draw against PVF-CAND Youth caused the team from the martial land to drop to 3rd place, while also widening the gap to the top spot to 8 points. In that context, a more practical goal for Coach Trinh Duy Quang and his team is competing for the 2nd position, as they are only 2 points behind Bac Ninh.

The upcoming rounds are predicted to be pivotal for the championship race. Truong Tuoi Dong Nai will successively face direct competitors like Quy Nhon United and Bac Ninh. If they continue to maintain their impressive form, they could very soon reach for the championship title and the promotion ticket. Conversely, just one stumble could make the situation unpredictable.

In the middle group, Xuan Thien Phu Thọ emerged as a phenomenon with an impressive scoring form. The 4-0 victory over Long An gave them 22 points and opened an opportunity to squeeze into the top 5. Meanwhile, the bottom group still hasn't seen much fluctuation, as Dong Thap, Long An, and Ho Chi Minh City Youth continued to come away empty-handed, making the relegation battle increasingly fierce.
