Fadly Alberto Hengga has apologized following an unacceptable violent act in the Indonesian youth league.
Fadly Alberto Hengga, one of the notable young talents in Indonesian football, has become the center of controversy after a violent act on the pitch during the 2025/2026 Elite Pro Academy (EPA) Super League U20 season. In the match between U20 Bhayangkara FC and U20 Dewa United at Citarum Stadium, Semarang on April 19, this player born in 2008 executed a dangerous Kung Fu-style kick targeting Rakha Nurkholis from the opposing side, sparking widespread criticism within the football community of the archipelago nation.
The incident occurred as the match grew tense and Fadly Alberto lost his composure. The kick directly to Rakha Nurkholis's face was assessed as a serious unsportsmanlike conduct, completely contrary to fair-play spirit. Immediately after the match, video footage of this play quickly spread on social media, triggering outrage from fans. Many opinions stated that a severe penalty is necessary to deter such acts and protect the image of Indonesian youth football.
Under public pressure, Fadly Alberto officially apologized via his personal Instagram account on April 20. The winger of Bhayangkara FC admitted his action was "stupid" and expressed deep regret. He offered a direct apology to Rakha Nurkholis and the entire U20 Dewa United team for the rough tackle that caused unnecessary consequences in the match.
Not only apologizing to the opponent, Fadly also apologized to the management, coaching staff, and teammates at Bhayangkara FC for damaging the club's image. He acknowledged that he caused reputational harm to the club and created unwarranted controversy. As a young player with high expectations, this impulsive act further disappointed the public.
Notably, Fadly Alberto also publicly apologized to the Indonesian national team. He believes his uncontrolled behavior tarnished the positive image the young Garuda squad is building. Fadly is currently a member of the U20 Indonesia team under coach Nova Arianto, but after this incident, reports suggest he may be excluded from the national team's plans in the near future.
Concluding his apology, the 17-year-old prodigy also apologized to all Indonesian people and affirmed his readiness to accept any sanctions from the PSSI disciplinary committee. Fadly emphasized this will be a major lesson helping him mature, learn to control emotions, and not repeat such mistakes in the future. This incident serves as a warning bell not only for Fadly Alberto but also for Indonesian youth football regarding discipline and professional sporting spirit.
