Hansi Flick reveals his future at Barcelona, affirming his desire to win the Champions League.

Coach Hansi Flick confirms he plans to stay with Barcelona for at least two more years, amid numerous reports about contract renewal.

The German manager also analyzed the team's defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, describing it as a "very painful" experience.

Barcelona was eliminated in a bitter manner for the second consecutive season after failing to secure an advantage at home in the first leg. Before returning to La Liga, Flick believes the team needs to turn that disappointment into motivation for the remainder of the season.

"For me, this is a journey, and we have a young squad. Elimination can happen like that. It caused us great pain. We must do better, not only in the upcoming matches but also in the next season."

"This must become greater motivation. We need to improve the small details, just the small details, because we played very well in those matches. I am truly proud of the team. Now we must focus on La Liga. We want to win it, but everything is not over yet," Flick said.

He also warned that the race in La Liga remains very difficult: "We have a points advantage, but we must continue winning. La Liga is not easy at all. We must play our best game, like against Atletico, give everything for the fans and the club. The elimination hurts us, but it also energizes us for the upcoming matches."

Recently, there have been reports that Flick has reached a verbal agreement to extend his contract until 2028 – the expected completion date of the Camp Nou renovation. The German manager almost confirmed this desire.

"That is a big dream. There are two things I want: to win the Champions League and to build a great team for many years ahead. We must make the right decisions in transfer periods, avoid mistakes, and be perfect. The squad is young and has much potential to improve. We have a good structure."

He added: "The second thing is I want to be the coach when this stadium is completed. You never know in football, but I am working very hard with the coaching staff. I am very happy here. I feel this is like a family. We were eliminated from the Champions League, but that is part of football. We must focus on what can be achieved this season."

Flick emphasized this could be the final step in his coaching career: "That is my plan. This could be the final stop in my career. I want to extend my contract, but it's not the time to talk about that yet, because we have big goals in the coming weeks."

The German manager is also satisfied with the team's morale after the European defeat: "Now we only have La Liga. If we win it, that would be fantastic. The whole team rested for two days to relieve the psychological pressure. The atmosphere now is very positive. In the last seven matches, we must progress step by step. The important thing is to learn from failures."

Flick stated that when he arrived, no one expected Barcelona to compete for four titles: "That is great. Not only the titles, but the way we play football is also very good. The club is satisfied, the players are satisfied. The president once told me that not only winning, but style is also important, and I think we have succeeded in that aspect."

A prominent issue in the defeat against Atletico was the lack of sharpness in attack, coinciding with Raphinha's absence. Flick acknowledged that personnel factors affected the team.

"Sometimes matches depend on moments and small details. At the end of the season, having all players available is crucial. We lacked Frenkie, Raphinha was also absent, but that is not an excuse."

He also mentioned the role of leadership, especially when Inigo Martinez was absent: "Last season we had Inigo, a great leader. This is something we must learn. We need players with leadership qualities on the field, communicating, adjusting positions. In training everything is very good, but in the Champions League, we need more."

Flick concluded: "The team is young. We will learn, improve, and must teach some players to become leaders. We will do that."

The German manager affirmed that Barcelona is the job he enjoys most in his career: "I had a wonderful time with the national team alongside Jogi Low, Bayern Munich was also great, but here is the best. My family likes Barcelona, the coaching staff does too. The players have excellent cohesion. The fans' dream is the Champions League, and hopefully we will achieve it soon."

Barcelona will return to action against Celta Vigo on Wednesday evening at Camp Nou, aiming to regain their winning streak.
