Come on really! Atletico Madrid's €70 million offer for Alvarez The player wants to leave Manchester City for the sake of the main team

Atletico Madrid is going to do something in this summer window, not to talk about it, but really to sign Alvarez. According to the latest news from Sky Sports, Atletico are currently in talks with Manchester City for the transfer of 24-year-old Argentina striker Alvarez, with a total offer of 70 million euros and the player worth 90 million euros in Germany.

It is reported that Atletico Madrid and Manchester City were in official contact last weekend, and the transfer of Alvarez is still in negotiations. Atletico's current offer is €55 million + €15 million floating, however this is far from Manchester City's asking price. In addition to Atletico, Paris are also interested in Alvarez.

Alvarez came through River Plate's academy and joined City in January 2022 for a fee of €21.4 million, but returned on loan for half a season before joining City in 2022-23.

The 24-year-old Alvarez, a 1.70-metre-tall, right-footed player who plays as a centre-forward or second striker or right winger, has a contract with Manchester City until 2028 and currently earns £5.2 million before taxes. Alvarez made 54 appearances for City in all competitions last season, starting 39 of them, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists.

Alvarez and Guardiola have already talked that the main No. 9 position of Manchester City in the new season is still Haaland, and Alvarez, who is the main winner of the World Cup + Copa America, is eager to become the main force of the team, which is the fundamental reason why he wants to leave Manchester City. Haaland scored a lot of goals, but he was dumb in all the finals and tough games; Alvarez doesn't look as strong as Haaland, but he can pass and shoot, and he has the ability to shoot from distance with a dense shot. Alvarez's reluctance to settle on the bench and his desire to play in a Champions League-caliber team is understandable.
