Thailand's coach criticized after disappointing draw with Kuwait

After the Thai national team's 2-2 draw with Kuwait, ex-player Sarayuth Chaikamdee took to social media to harshly criticize head coach Anthony Hudson, claiming the British coach has no defined strategy.

The 2-2 draw between Thailand and Kuwait during the June FIFA Days friendly matches not only disappointed fans but also sparked diverse opinions regarding the capability of head coach Anthony Hudson.

Shortly after the match ended, former star Sarayuth Chaikamdee, once known by the nickname "Jo 5 meters," posted a noteworthy status on his personal page. The former legend of the Thai national team frankly stated that the reason for the team's unconvincing performance lies not with the players.

Sarayuth posted a message directed at Thailand's head coach

Translation: "I've tried veterans and young players too, so please don't blame the players. It's the coach who lacks a playing style and doesn't know how to attack. He only has a résumé as a Westerner who speaks English to fool the Thai people. Don't argue—I'm posting this as my personal opinion. As a football fan, I've cheered for the boys in many matches."

Not stopping at criticizing the head coach, the former "War Elephants" player also sent a message to striker Supachai Jaided. He revealed that he once advised the Buriram United forward that the pressure of playing for the national team is completely different from club football.

"I still stand by what I told 'Arm Supachai' before: Playing for the national team is not the same pressure as playing for a club. Whether people believe it or not, that's fine.", according to another post by Sarayuth.

Sarayuth was one of Thailand's top strikers during the 2003–2008 period. The former goalscorer won a gold medal with the "War Elephants" at the 2003 SEA Games in Vietnam and claimed the tournament's top scorer title. He also helped the team win the King's Cup and scored a total of 26 goals for the national team. At the club level, he made a strong impression by winning the Thai League top scorer award twice and becoming only the second player in league history to reach the 100-goal milestone, after legend Pipob On-mo.

Sarayuth Chaikamdee's harsh remarks are drawing significant attention from Thai media and fans. Following the less-than-convincing performance against Kuwait, the pressure on coach Anthony Hudson is expected to increase in the coming period.
