Thailand's coach spoke out to explain after the disappointing draw against Kuwait

The English head coach spoke after the match, saying that first of all, praise and cooperation must be given to all the players who gave their all on the field. He admitted he was personally disappointed with the result because he expected to score more goals and achieve a better outcome. However, he also acknowledged that the entire training process was not easy due to having to adjust to the different fitness levels of each player after only about 4-5 days of preparation together.

Furthermore, the Thailand national team coach explained the many changes in the starting lineup for this match, stating that he was trying to find the most suitable playing style and positions for each player, including the use of Erawan Garnier, Teerapat Kaewphutphong, and Teerasil Dangda. He explained that in a normal match, there would not be 7-8 substitutions, but because the goal of this training camp was to evaluate potential and test everyone's form, he decided to give players rotation opportunities and find the most effective method.

Hudson added that the multiple substitutions at halftime led to a somewhat more open structure and game plan, but overall, all the players performed to the best of their abilities. The team had many scoring opportunities but lacked sharpness in the final attacking third, which should be acknowledged thanks to each player's dedication.

Thailand national team's next match will be the last international friendly within the FIFA Days, an away match against China on Tuesday, June 9, 2026
