French-Vietnamese player unexpectedly says goodbye to a V.League club

Midfielder Ryan Hà, of French-Vietnamese heritage, announced his departure from HAGL following the 2025/26 campaign, concluding a stint that fell short of hopes at the club based in Pleiku.

The journey of French-Vietnamese midfielder Ryan Hà at HAGL is nearing its conclusion, as the player confirmed he will part ways with the Mountain City team after the 2025/26 season ends. The news was shared by Ryan Hà himself on his personal page, marking the end of a brief but regret-filled chapter for the footballer once expected to revive his career in Pleiku.

Ryan Hà was born in Paris to Vietnamese parents. After several years playing in lower French leagues, the 1997-born midfielder decided to return to his homeland to pursue career opportunities. Since 2023, he has played for Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Hanoi FC, and PVF-CAND. However, at all these clubs, Ryan Hà has yet to make a significant impact to establish his standing.

In the summer of 2025, HAGL gave Ryan Hà an opportunity with a free transfer contract. During the first half of the season, the 28-year-old player somewhat repaid the coaching staff's trust. He consistently featured in the starting lineup, at one point playing 11 consecutive matches and contributing one goal. His energetic play and wide-ranging activity made him a preferred option for the Mountain City team's head coach.

However, things changed significantly when the season entered its second phase. Growing competition within the squad caused Ryan Hà to gradually lose his place. Since the beginning of February, he has only played one match, against Ninh Binh. For most of the remaining time, the French-Vietnamese midfielder either sat on the bench or was left out of HAGL's matchday squad.

Ryan Hà has only made one appearance for HAGL since the start of February.

A key reason for Ryan Hà's loss of position stems from the strong development of young players. HAGL currently boasts several promising forwards, notably Tran Gia Bao and Nguyen Minh Tam. Both have shown remarkable progress, meeting professional requirements and bringing fresh energy to the Mountain City team.

Having to leave HAGL can be seen as another low point in Ryan Hà's quest to establish himself in Vietnamese football. Despite once being highly touted due to his background in French football training, the 28-year-old has yet to achieve the breakthrough he desired. While HAGL continues to invest in its young players, Ryan Hà will now start a new journey, hoping to find another chance to prove himself in the coming years.
