In the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship, the Vietnam U19 team is placed in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, Myanmar, and Timor Leste. Meanwhile, Group B consists of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei; Group C includes Australia, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

Since Laos did not participate and Group C has only three teams, this significantly impacts the race for semifinal berths in the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship. Specifically, only three group winners and one best second-placed team will advance to the semifinals. Due to the unequal number of teams, when comparing the performances of the second-placed teams, the second-placed teams in Groups A and B will not have their results against the bottom team of their group counted.
