Brazilian striker expresses desire to play alongside Xuan Son on the Vietnam national team

Geovane Magno reveals his longing to represent Vietnam and dreams of partnering with Nguyen Xuan Son for the national team.

After a memorable 2025/26 V.League season, forward Geovane Magno is now setting his sights on a bigger career goal: playing for the Vietnam national team. Having officially become a Vietnamese citizen under the name Nguyen Tai Loc, the Brazilian-born striker openly expresses his desire to contribute to the red jersey, and even to stand alongside his compatriot Nguyen Xuan Son on the national team.

The recent season showcased Geovane's relentless efforts while playing for Ninh Binh FC. The ancient capital team finished in third place overall,a commendable achievement given the increasingly fierce competition in the V.League. However, with his ever-ambitious nature, Geovane remains unsatisfied. The 1994-born striker frankly admits he wants more and will continue to fight alongside his teammates for the championship in the upcoming season.

Beyond his success on the pitch, 2026 marks a special milestone in Geovane's life as he officially becomes a Vietnamese citizen. After seven years of living, working, and being deeply involved in Vietnamese football, his love for the S-shaped land has grown ever stronger. That is why the striker always considers Vietnam his second home.

Sharing his feelings for the country where he now lives, Geovane stated: "I love Vietnam very much. I have lived here for seven years, so I love this country. Therefore, I always give my best for the club and for Vietnamese football." These sincere words partly reflect the deep connection and long-term commitment of a player who has spent many years competing in the V.League.

When asked about the possibility of joining the Vietnam national team in the near future, Geovane showed determination and readiness. He shared: "I am always ready. If the head coach selects me, I am ready. I will try to show my best, always giving my all." With years of experience in the V.League and a proven goal-scoring ability, Geovane has solid grounds to hope for an opportunity.

Notably, the Ninh Binh FC striker also praised Nguyen Xuan Son, a forward who has made a strong impression in the Vietnam national team. Geovane said: "Xuan Son is a very outstanding player.
