Indonesia U19 celebrated chaotically after scoring the goal that made it 2-1 against Vietnam U19 in the Group B match of the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship on the evening of June 7th. After Evandra Florasta converted the penalty in the 90+1 minute to increase the score to 2-1, the home players ran onto the opponent's side to celebrate near Vietnam U19's technical area. Earlier, the match was played under tense conditions with many intense disputes between the two teams. During a throw-in situation, Indonesian player Fabio Azkairawan charged into Vietnam U19's technical area and collided with a coaching staff member. The Japanese referee subsequently issued a red card to a member of the Vietnam U19 side.

This match was decisive for the top spot in the group. Indonesia U19 opened the scoring in the first half through Reno Salampessy. In the second half, Vietnam U19 played more brightly and equalized 1-1 in the 73rd minute thanks to Nguyen Quoc Khanh, bringing the game back to a balanced state.

The match seemed to end in a draw, but in the 90+1 minute, the referee determined a foul in Vietnam's penalty area and awarded a controversial penalty to Indonesia U19. The incident occurred when Nguyen Hoang Nam cleared a high ball in the box and collided from behind with home player Theodore Leeming. However, this was an unclear situation, and even slow-motion replays made it difficult to determine whether Hoang Nam was at fault. Nevertheless, referee Tanimoto Ryo judged it a foul and gave the penalty. From the spot, Evandra Florasta scored to seal a 2-1 victory.

The result allowed Indonesia U19 to top the group, while Vietnam U19 dropped to second place and now must wait for results from other groups to compete for a semifinal spot based on the best runner-up format.
