With less than a week to go before the opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Cabo Verde, the Spanish national team delivered an impressive dress rehearsal by overcoming Peru 3-1.
La Roja started with great enthusiasm and scored as early as the 2nd minute. From outside the box, Mikel Oyarzabal fired a precise shot past goalkeeper Pedro Gallese to open the scoring for the European side.
After the early goal, Spain completely controlled the game with dominant ball possession. In the 32nd minute, Ferran Torres set up Pedri, who finished accurately to make it 2-0.
In the second half, coach Luis de la Fuente made several substitutions to test the squad. Despite this, Spain maintained their pressure. In the 53rd minute, the red-clad team scored a rather fortunate third goal when goalkeeper Pedro Gallese awkwardly turned a cross from the right wing into his own net.
