Real Madrid mocked over €150 million blockbuster

Real Madrid caused a stir by sending a €150 million offer for Julian Alvarez, but Atletico Madrid immediately rejected it and publicly mocked both Los Blancos and Barcelona on social media.

Atletico Madrid just created a sensation on social media by publicly responding to Real Madrid with a sarcastic message after the Spanish royal club sent a €150 million offer to sign Julian Alvarez.

Immediately after Real Madrid confirmed they had sent an official offer to Atletico Madrid, the city rivals promptly posted a highly sarcastic statement on social media platform X.

At the beginning of the announcement, Atletico wrote: “Official statement to clarify the official statement from our neighbors.”

The Metropolitano-based club then issued a series of humorous retorts. Atletico claimed that Real Madrid had “cut out” the part where the Pope said he was also an Atletico fan, while emphasizing that they “have nothing to thank” their city rivals.

Most notably, the statement regarding Julian Alvarez: “We have not studied nor considered any offers for Julian.”

Not stopping there, Atletico also took the opportunity to take a dig at Barcelona with a viral closing line: “How could we not get along when you make us laugh even more than Barcelona?”

Earlier, President Florentino Perez had promised to bring in a “Galactico” new if re-elected. After continuing to hold the presidency of Real Madrid, he immediately fulfilled his promise by sending a €150 million offer for Alvarez.

However, Atletico quickly rejected. According to multiple sources in Spain, the Argentine striker has a release clause of up to €500 million, and Atletico has no intention of selling their top star.

This move is also seen as a response to Barcelona. Earlier, Argentine media had revealed that Alvarez had agreed personal terms with the Catalan club, but Barcelona's offer of around €100 million was considered insufficient to convince Atletico. By rejecting both Real Madrid and Barcelona, Atletico Madrid sent a clear message: Julian Alvarez is an untouchable figure in the long-term plans of the capital club.
