Entering the clash against Myanmar, the Thai women's team held a significant advantage after a narrow victory over Uzbekistan in the previous match. For most of the first half, Thailand dominated the game with better ball possession. Their combinations through the middle and attacks down the flanks repeatedly put pressure on Myanmar's goal. However, a lack of finishing touch prevented the visitors from converting clear-cut chances into goals.

Just when the momentum was in their favor, Thailand received a shock early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Htet Lu May capitalized on a scramble inside the box to open the scoring for Myanmar. Nonetheless, the composure of Southeast Asia's most decorated team quickly showed, as only five minutes later, Thawanrat Promthongmee equalized with a precise strike to make it 1-1.
