Held from June 9 to 21 at Chapultepec Forest—an iconic park in the heart of Mexico City—the event attracted participation from diplomatic missions, international cultural centers, and tens of thousands of locals and international visitors.

According to the organizers, Aldea Global 2026 is designed as a multi-sensory experiential space that celebrates cultural diversity and fosters connections between nations ahead of the World Cup. Throughout nearly two weeks, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy art performances, traditional cultural exhibitions, creative workshops, and distinctive culinary presentations from various regions around the world.

Notably, alongside the presence of the 48 nations qualified for the 2026 World Cup, the organizers also invited several countries with friendly relations and positive contributions to the international cultural scene in Mexico to showcase their national identity. Vietnam was among those selected.

“Vietnam's Corner” at Aldea Global 2026 introduced Mexican audiences and international friends to the distinctive features of Vietnamese culture, history, and people through displays, tourism promotion, traditional art demonstrations, and representative cultural products. This presence is regarded as a crucial opportunity to enhance the country's image, foster people-to-people exchanges, and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Mexico as well as the international community.

At the Vietnam booth, visitors could enjoy familiar dishes such as spring rolls, fried rice, lemon tea, and several typical street foods. From the very first days, the Vietnamese food area attracted a large number of Mexican locals and international tourists eager to experience it. Many diners praised the harmonious flavors, nutritional balance, and use of fresh, natural ingredients—elements that contribute to the unique appeal of Vietnamese cuisine.

The introduction of traditional dishes at Aldea Global 2026 not only helps promote Vietnamese culture but also reflects the growing prominence of Vietnamese cuisine on the world food map. In recent years, numerous Vietnamese dishes have consistently been ranked by international travel and food organizations among the world's most appealing foods, serving as an effective bridge to bring the image of Vietnam and its people closer to international friends.

Aldea Global 2026 is one of the highlights in the strategy to turn Mexico City into a global cultural exchange hub during the World Cup. Alongside this event, the city government is also organizing the FIFA Fan Festival at Zócalo Square, lasting 39 days with free screenings of all 104 matches; building a cultural corridor connecting more than 12 major museums; and strengthening security measures with approximately 56,000 police officers and a multilingual support system for international visitors.

Vietnam's presence at Aldea Global 2026 demonstrates the growing appeal of Vietnamese culture in Latin America and reflects the increasingly active role of cultural diplomacy in promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends through events of global stature.
