Qingmu has agreed to join Roma, revealing details of Manchester United's sell-on clause! New buyer for Onana emerges, teammates disappointed

According to *Corriere dello Sport*, Mason Greenwood has agreed to a permanent transfer to Roma in Serie A. If the 24-year-old former Manchester United winger moves, his old club would receive a 40% share of the fee. Last season, Greenwood made 45 appearances for Marseille, scoring 26 goals and providing 11 assists, but the relationship between the player and the club has not been ideal.

Marseille missed out on the Champions League for the upcoming season, and with internal chaos, Greenwood is set on leaving. Roma have reached a personal agreement with the player; he has accepted playing under Gian Piero Gasperini and will sign a five-year contract worth €5 million (£3.9 million) per year, plus bonuses that are easily achievable incentive clauses. Additionally, his wages will automatically increase each year.

Manchester United will receive 40% of any future transfer fee for Greenwood, as the club retained a 40% economic stake when selling him to Marseille for €30 million (£26 million) in 2024. The Ligue 1 club holds 60% of the economic rights and 100% of the sporting rights.

However, Roma may not be the club United most want Greenwood to join, as the Italian side is not flush with cash. Roma's reported offer is €40 million (£35 million) plus add-ons, which falls short of Marseille's valuation. According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Marseille is seeking €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses, for a total of €55 million (£48 million).

Turkish club Fenerbahçe, which previously reached an agreement with Greenwood, could still be involved in signing him. Although the club presidential candidate who negotiated with him ultimately lost the election, the team may still join the race. However, Fenerbahçe's price limit is also €40 million, which does not meet Marseille's standard.

Atlético Madrid in La Liga could be an ideal destination for Greenwood, especially if they lose Argentine international Julián Álvarez, creating both space and funds to sign the player. According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, the "Colchoneros" are willing to offer up to €60 million, fully satisfying Marseille's asking price. This would also be a welcome scenario for Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as it would yield the largest share for the club.

As for *L'Équipe*'s reports linking Arsenal and Tottenham, there is absolutely no chance of Greenwood joining them. The controversial player's return to the Premier League is virtually impossible. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has clearly stated that the rumor about Tottenham's interest in Greenwood is false.

Notably, Roma's targets are not limited to Greenwood; they are also considering Dutch international Crysencio Summerville of relegated Premier League side West Ham United. Summerville is also a target for Manchester United, with a price tag of around £50 million. Roma's interest could drive up the price for United's pursuit of the 24-year-old winger, and his strong performances at the World Cup may further boost his value.

Manchester United also hope to generate more income through the sale of current players. According to Turkish outlet "Fanatik," Süper Lig side Beşiktaş plans to compete with Trabzonspor to sign André Onana. The 30-year-old Onana spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor, helping them win the Turkish Cup and qualify for the Europa League. Trabzonspor's club president claims to have agreed on wages with Onana, but they still need to present a transfer fee that satisfies Manchester United.

Onana has no future at Manchester United. According to *The Sun*, some believe the change in goalkeeping coach is responsible for the Cameroonian goalkeeper's decline in form. Onana liked Ten Hag's goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar, but Ruben Amorim brought in his own assistant, Jorge Vital, while ten Rouwelaar moved to Brighton. Onana's form immediately dropped. Onana has also complained that Amorim keeps him at a distance, favoring his Portuguese compatriots Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

Of course, these are just excuses. During his time at Manchester United, Onana only performed well in the first few months of the 2024/25 season. Leaving United is now an inevitable outcome for Onana. His £120,000-per-week salary is too high for a backup goalkeeper, and with add-ons, his weekly earnings could reach up to £160,000—something owner Ratcliffe would not accept.

Beşiktaş also qualify for the Europa League. If Trabzonspor cannot reach an agreement with Manchester United, they will step in to try to sign Onana. It is said that Bayern Munich's Alexander Nübel is another option Beşiktaş is considering. However, this rumor would disappoint Manchester United's backup goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, as Beşiktaş has been in contact with him since January but may now choose someone else.
