The FA Cup Round of 16 draw took place on June 25th Beijing time. Former national team players Ma Mingyu, Fan Xiaodong, and ex-China head coach Milutinovic participated in the draw. The FA Cup fifth round (Round of 16) is scheduled for July 21-22, the quarterfinals on September 1-2, the semifinals on November 21-22, and the final on the evening of December 6 at Suzhou Olympic Sports Center.

The tournament will continue to use a single-elimination format. From the fifth round to the eighth round (final), the team that scores more goals during regular time in each match wins.

If the total number of goals is the same or neither team scores after 90 minutes of regular time, extra time of two 15-minute halves will be played. If the scores remain level or no goals are scored after extra time, a penalty shootout will decide the winner.
