The qualification situation has drastically worsened! Reports suggest the South Korean team may lose a massive 1.1 billion won bonus, and the entire team's training atmosphere is heavy.

On June 26 Beijing time, the final round of Groups D, E, and F of the World Cup concluded. The outcomes of all three groups were quite unfavorable for the South Korean men's football team, which is awaiting its qualification verdict.

According to South Korean media reports, after learning the latest results, the entire South Korean team, which was conducting recovery training at the training base today, had a somewhat heavy atmosphere. The players arrived late at night on a chartered flight, and both their physical and mental states were clearly low.

What further torments the South Korean players is that if they miss out on the World Cup knockout stage, they will lose a huge bonus worth up to 1.1 billion won.

Earlier, South Korean Football Association Chairman Chung Mong-gyu had promised that if the South Korean team advanced to the World Cup's top 32, he would personally donate 1 billion won (approximately 4.42 million yuan). In addition, the South Korean FA would provide a qualification bonus of 100 million won (approximately 442,000 yuan).

Currently, the South Korean team is only assured of receiving the group stage win bonus of 30 million won (approximately 132,600 yuan). The remaining 1.1 billion won (approximately 4.862 million yuan) qualification bonus will only be determined after the final two matches of the group stage's last round.

Currently, the situation is increasingly unfavorable for the South Korean men's football team. Ecuador, Sweden, and Bosnia and Herzegovina have already taken three of the third-place qualification spots from the groups. South Korea, currently in sixth place, will have to compete with the remaining eight teams for the final five slots. Moreover, South Korea is confirmed to be behind Paraguay and only confirmed to be ahead of Scotland.

According to predictions from South Korean media, the South Korean men's football team will most likely end up in 8th or 9th place among the 12 third-place teams, teetering on the edge of qualification and elimination.
