On June 26, Beijing time, the draw for the 2026 Wimbledon women's singles was released. Chinese player Zheng Qinwen again faced bad luck in the draw, drawing her "tough opponent" Siniaková in the first round. This is already the third time the two have met on the Wimbledon courts.

Previously, Zheng Qinwen faced Siniaková at Wimbledon in 2023 and last year, losing both matches. Adding in the 2024 Berlin tournament, Zheng has lost all three grass-court meetings with Siniaková.
Zheng is not particularly strong on grass, while her opponent is a true "grass-court specialist." For Zheng, who is currently in a slump, achieving her first grass-court win over Siniaková will be extremely difficult.

After the draw was announced, Zheng posted a funny video on social media with the caption: "Continuing the (grass) roller-coaster ride."

It is worth noting that even if Zheng makes it past the first round, her path to the title could involve facing five top-10 players, including Sabalenka, which would be a huge challenge. Zheng's world ranking has now dropped to No. 153.
