South Korea suffered five setbacks in two days! Their ranking among third-place teams dropped to 8th, and the latest probability of advancing is only 44%.

On June 27 Beijing time, the final round of the World Cup group stage concluded with matches in Groups G, H, and I. South Korea, anxiously awaiting their fate, faced another heavy blow.

The outcomes of two out of the three groups were unfavorable for them.According to The Athletic's probability of advancing, South Korea's chances dropped to 44%.

In the three groups that concluded yesterday, Ecuador staged an upset by defeating Germany, Sweden drew 1-1 with Japan, and Paraguay played a goalless draw with Australia. This allowed Ecuador, Sweden, and Paraguay to surpass South Korea in the rankings of the 12 third-place teams.

In today's Group G and I final matches, Iraq and Egypt did not help South Korea either. Iraq suffered a 5-0 defeat to Senegal, while Egypt, already qualified, drew 1-1 with Iran.

As a result, Senegal secured one of the best third-place spots. Although Iran hasn't locked in a spot yet, they surpassed South Korea in the rankings, pushing the Koreans to 8th place among the 12 third-place teams, on the brink of elimination.

The only consolation for South Korea was Spain's victory over Uruguay. This at least ensured that South Korea would finish ahead of Scotland and Uruguay.

On the 28th, the World Cup will feature the final round of matches for the last three groups. South Korea's chances are hanging by a thread. For them to advance to the knockout stage at the last moment, two conditions must be met simultaneously across the three groups.

The specific three conditions are as follows:

Group J: Austria beats Algeria, or Algeria beats Austria by two or more goals; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2.

Group K: DR Congo draws with Uzbekistan, or Uzbekistan beats DR Congo by fewer than six goals; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2.

Group L: Ghana beats Croatia; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2.
