Dire? South Korea competes with 6 teams for the last 3 knockout spots, needing at least 2 conditions met in the remaining 3 groups to advance

On June 27 Beijing time, the final round of World Cup group stage action finished for Groups G, H, and I. As they eagerly awaited their own destiny, South Korea faced yet another heavy blow. In the span of two days, five out of six group outcomes worked against the "Taegeuk Warriors."

Currently, South Korea has fallen to 8th place in the ranking of the 12 third-place teams, teetering on the edge of elimination. So far, Sweden, Ecuador, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Paraguay, and Senegal have secured five of the best third-place spots. South Korea now must compete with the remaining six teams for the final three berths.

Currently, South Korea is assured of ranking above Scotland and Uruguay but is also confirmed to be behind Iran. Therefore, the results of the last three third-place finishes are crucial for South Korea.

On the 28th, the final round of the last three groups of this World Cup will be played, and South Korea is hanging by a thread. Two conditions must be simultaneously met across the three groups for them to clinch a knockout spot at the last second.

Group J: Austria beats Algeria, or Algeria beats Austria by 2 goals or more; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2

Group K: Democratic Republic of Congo draws with Uzbekistan, or Uzbekistan beats Democratic Republic of Congo by fewer than 6 goals; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2

Group L: Ghana beats Croatia; the third-place team has at most 3 points and a goal difference of -2
