Manchester United restarts the new star to renew the contract, and the player asks for a weekly salary of 180,000! Amorim said winning the Europa League was not crucial

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have reopened contract extension talks with academy midfielder Kobe Maynor, hoping to reach an agreement. If he is unable to renew his contract, the club could sell it and improve its finances to comply with Premier League and UEFA rules, with Chelsea still most eager to get his next home.

Manchester United had already started talks with Meno when he was playing well last season, but there has been no follow-up. Initially, the agent said that the player was focused on the game, but the British media later revealed that Meno's team wanted to "sit on the ground" when he performed at his best, asking for a weekly salary of 200,000 pounds!

Now, Meno's agent has lowered the bar but still wants to earn £180,000 a week, plus a bonus clause that allows the 19-year-old England international to keep the same income as the main man in the squad. If United agree, he will be on par with fellow England Luke Shaw (£190,000) and Harry Maguire (£195,000) and eighth in the team earnest, just behind the likes of Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount and Antony.

Mayno has been out for a month with a calf injury and has just over two years left on his current contract with just over £20,000 a week. Manchester United are hoping to convince the Stockporter-born Academy graduate that he has a long-term future at Old Trafford and want his compromise to continue to reduce his weekly salary requirements.

But if that doesn't happen, Sir Jim Ratcliffe won't rule out selling him. As a homegrown player, Meno's transfer can bring 100% profit. Manchester United value him at £70 million to £80 million, which would be a significant amount of income.

United considered selling Mayno and Garnacho during the winter transfer window in January, but were unable to find a buyer to pay the price they wanted, so they had to rent out Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Head coach Ruben Amorim insists he wants to keep the two talented youngsters, but there is no guarantee that they will stay in the future, as financial pressures have forced United to sell players this summer before they can bring in new signings. Amorim also felt that Maynor and Garnacho were not suitable players for his 343 formation, and Mayno, who used to be a midfielder, was placed by him to play as a center forward and a number 10, but the effect was not ideal.

At the moment, United have only one Europa League title remaining, but the 40-year-old Portuguese boss has downplayed the importance of winning the trophy, stressing that there are some things that are more crucial than the title. What Amorim is talking about may be the foundational part of the rebuilding of the locker room culture, the management structure, etc.

Ten Hag won trophies in both full seasons in charge of Manchester United, with the League Cup and FA Cup being his bragging rights. If Amorim can lead his side to win the Europa League and qualify for next season's Champions League, it will make this failed season a successful conclusion.

Manchester United currently sit 14th in the Premier League, 13 points behind fifth-placed Chelsea and 10 points behind seventh-largest Bournemouth. Therefore, many fans believe that the focus should be on winning the Europa League. On Thursday, Manchester United will travel to La Liga Real Sociedad in the first leg of the quarter-finals. In his pre-match press conference, Amorim insisted that the title was not the most important task.

'We were out of the FA Cup last week, so people see the Europa League as their only chance to win the trophy and qualify for the Champions League. Amorim said, "But honestly, I think there are more important things to think about at Manchester United. I know it's strange to say that, but the key is the foundation we're trying to build at the club and that's more important than winning the title at the moment. I know we have a responsibility to fight for every trophy, but we still need to build something longer than any trophy this season."

One of the things Amorim needs to focus on is the complex environment that Academy players face when they rise to fame, with Makaida, Januzaj, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Meno all lost in fame and fortune in the past. Now, the club want to protect 17-year-old centre-forward Cheedo Obi. After his debut, there were a lot of fake accounts on social media, and Manchester United officials took action to get them banned. It is reported that Obi currently only has two accounts, "Instagram" and "TikTok", and Manchester United has reservations about the bad public opinion environment on some social media, and advises players, especially young people, to stay away.
