Manchester United are reportedly looking to bring in a new striker in the summer window, but Ruben Amorim is targeting players who are either too expensive or unwilling to give in, so the club is considering bringing in Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Matta. Despite the Red Devils' current slump in form, a move to Manchester United is still attractive to Mateta compared to Crystal Palace.

Mateta has excelled at Oliver Glasner's club Crystal Palace, with the 27-year-old French striker being one of the most consistent goalscorers in the Premier League over the past two seasons, scoring 19 goals last season. Mateta is expected to surpass that statistic this season, scoring eight goals in his last 10 appearances, including two in a 2-0 win over Manchester United last month. Currently, he is ranked 10th in the Premier League's scorer charts.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are considering bringing in Mateta in the summer and have sent scouts to watch his last three games. This is because Amorim's other centre-forward targets are too difficult to obtain, some transfer fees and weekly salaries are too high, some dislike Manchester United, and some have both of the above conditions!

For example, Sporting de Portugal's Dzhecherish, although he has worked with Amorim, he has scored 80 goals in 89 games, and he will only choose clubs that can play in the Champions League.
