Amorim announces that Fernandes will not leave Manchester United! Real Madrid has no intention of buying a 30-year-old player at a high price, only for free

This week, British media said that Real Madrid were interested in bringing in Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes for £90 million, however, manager Ruben Amorim made it clear in his pre-match press conference that B Fernandes would not go anywhere. Fernandes only signed a contract extension with Manchester United until 2027 in August last year, earning more than £300,000 a week, which also means the club has the initiative, with Amorim telling the captain that he will not be sold.

Fernandes Fernandes recently confirmed that he received a transfer offer in the summer window last year, but did not opt to leave Manchester United. Although he has only won the League Cup and FA Cup since joining in 2020, he is not desperate to leave.

Coach Amorim was even more adamant: "No, it's not going to happen. The challenge is how to be more competitive and I want Bruno [Fernandes] to be here, maybe we are at the lowest point of the season, but he and we both want to win the Premier League, so the club wants the best players to stay with us."

But Amorim misremembered Fernandes' age: "I think he's 29 years old, but he's still young because he plays 55 games a season and scores and assists more than 30 times. So, he's the kind of player we want, so he's not going anywhere else."

The United boss concluded: 'We can control the situation and I think he's really happy here, especially because he knows what we want to do and I think he's a United fan. He felt it too. Sometimes you see him depressed, and everybody sees it, and maybe says, that's not a good thing for a captain. But that shows that he's very hungry to succeed, that's the player we want, and he's not going anywhere because I told him!"

At the same time, Western media also said that Real Madrid could not pay such a high price for players over 30 years old. Paco Gonzalez told Cadena COPE: "Today the British media said that Real Madrid wants a B fee, and the offer is 90 million pounds. He's 30 years old and outstanding. Many teams will ask other clubs for passes to watch games, but Real Madrid's England scouts are looking at other players. Paying £90 million for a 30-year-old player, Florentino Pérez has a calculating mind, the buyers have to be useful and they have to be young."

He concluded: "I don't think it's possible for B Fee to join Real Madrid, if a player of this age is free, then it's okay, if not, it's not possible."

But another former Manchester United ace who may now be certain to move permanently in the summer window is Marcus Rashford. The 27-year-old scored twice in an FA Cup quarter-final win over Preston North End on Sunday to make it a game-ahead of zero goals since he was loaned. He was also called up to the England squad for the first time in a year, with Villa having the option to buy him out for £40million at the end of the season.

Amorim reiterated that the excellent performance of Manchester United's loan players is a positive factor that will effectively increase their transfer value, not only for Marcus Rashford, but also for the €100 million winger Antony, who is popular at Real Betis.

'I know Marcus Rashford very well and everyone knows his talent. Amorim added. "So I've already said that if he wants to work hard, he's a top player. I'm not surprised by his performance, and so is Anthony. It's a good thing that we've seen our players excel in different loan environments and it's possible. It's a good sign for the club and we're really happy with the players on loan. I'm planning for the future, but I don't want to talk about it at the moment, I'm just focused on the game against Nottingham Forest."
