Manchester United have decided to part ways with three players, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray and James Nolan. Their contracts are both expiring this year, and the club has decided not to offer a new one, having informed them that they can leave in search of a home.
The 19-year-old, who joined United from Morecambe in 2020 and was a regular in winning the 'treble' for the Under-18s last season, was loaned out to Rochdale in the winter transfer window in January, helping them to the play-offs. He was sent to Sir Jim Ratcliffe-owned Sporting in Lausanne, Switzerland, to train with the first team and impress his coach.
The Bolton-born centre-back also trained with United's first team and was selected at all levels of the Scottish national team, however, he is not expected to have a future at United, leaving him to embark on a new chapter in his career.
The 19-year-old all-round defender is currently on loan at Inverness in the Scottish First Division and has made 33 appearances for the team. He was destined to have no future at Manchester United, it was only a matter of time before he left the club, and his level could only be based on the lower leagues.
The 20-year-old joined United from Huddersfield Town and is a regular in the 2022 FA Youth Cup alongside Garnacho and Kobe Maynor. However, the left-back can only play in the development team, with the likes of Luke Shaw, Patrick Dolgu and Harry Armas already in the first team, and Paraguay's Diego León set to join in June, leaving Murray in disgrace.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United are planning to renew the contract of 17-year-old England left-back Armas, who has been dubbed the 'successor to Luke Shaw'. Armas made his United debut at the end of the season and was given more playing time, and although his performances were not very impressive, the club were pleased with his development and were ready to offer him a new contract. Armas' current contract expires in 2027 and does not have a one-year priority renewal clause.
Of course, staying at Manchester United is not necessarily a success, and leaving the Red Devils is not necessarily a bad thing. Antony, who went on loan at Real Betis in January, said it was his best decision. Antony and his agent are planning to hold talks with United this month about his long-term future, and his departure is inevitable.
Anthony said: "The best decision I've ever made was to join Betis. I'm happy that when the players are happy, things go well. It's too early and I don't know what's going to happen next, but I'm happy here. Even though I know I'm capable, I prioritize going to places that make me happy, even if there are bigger clubs to choose from. Goals and assists are important, but happiness is even more important."
Antony's 7 goals and 4 assists at Betis not only attracted the team to want a buyout, but also clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are also rumored to keep an eye on him. Manchester United are hoping to get between £34 million and £43 million by selling Antony, which is far more than they would have hoped when he was loaned to La Liga.
Manchester United's first-team squad has confirmed their departures in the summer window and include Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Evans, all of whom are also out of contract and have no plans to renew their contracts. The 33-year-old Eshen and the 30-year-old Swedish Iceman won't have a hard time finding a home, while Evans could hang up his boots.
