It was revealed that Manchester United will spend 67.5 million to buy Cunha, and give more money for installments! The player has turned down Arsenal

According to Brazilian media reports, Manchester United are close to agreeing a transfer deal with Wolves for Mateus Cunha, and although Arsenal have also approached the 25-year-old Brazilian striker, he opted for the Red Devils, even if the team is still likely to miss out on Champions League qualification next season.

Cunha has scored 15 Premier League goals and provided six assists for Wolves this season. So far last season, he has been directly involved in 40 Premier League goals as a number 10, second only to Chelsea's Cole Palmer. As such, Ruben Amorim sees him as the first target of the summer window, hoping it will help to improve the team's biggest problem of not being able to score.

Transfer talks have been underway for Cunha for a long time and it is understood that the player loves Manchester United and is eager to play for Amorim. So, while Arsenal's new director Berta has also met with his agent, Cunha is close to agreeing with Manchester United.

According to the report, final negotiations on personal terms are underway and he could receive between £180,000 and £200,000 a week. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed: "The deal between Manchester United and Cunha has not changed, negotiations are ongoing and there are positive feelings on both sides. The negotiations are still at an advanced stage, and both sides need to work out the details of the agreement."

Brazil's Goal.com reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants Cunha's transfer fee to be paid in instalments, and as a result, United have had to add a floating clause to convince Wolves not to ask for a lump sum of £62.5 million in liquidated damages.

According to the rules, if the liquidated damages clause is activated, United would need to pay the full £62.5 million to Cunha's account, which will then pay Wolves to buy out his contract, reinstate himself as a free agent and move to Manchester United. The liquidated damages need to be paid in a lump sum, and the wealthy Paris Saint-Germain once spent hundreds of millions of dollars to take Neymar from Barcelona.

But United have a shyness to make money, and when they signed Dutch striker Joshua Zirkze from Bologna this season, they opted to pay more in exchange for a change in the payment structure. The 23-year-old Zilkze was awarded €40 million in liquidated damages, Manchester United paid an extra €2.5 million, and Bologna agreed to be paid by the Red Devils over three years.

According to the Brazilian media, Cunha's price is nearly double that of Zirkze, and in an attempt to convince Wolves to agree to the installment model, United have added a floating clause agreeing to a potential transfer fee of an additional £5 million. Specifically, United will pay Cunha the full amount of £62.5 million (approximately €74 million) in liquidated damages, as well as agreeing to a conditional £5 million (€6 million) bonus.

This means that Cunha's final transfer fee totals £67.5 million (€80 million), with the terms of payment of the variable transfer fee believed to be linked to data such as Champions League qualification, player appearances and goals.

Manchester United are also looking to activate liquidated damages to bring in Ipswich centre Liam Delap, the 22-year-old 'new Kane' has a £40 million liquidated damages clause in his contract, but the team has been reduced to £30 million after relegation from the Premier League, which is a lower amount and the Red Devils can bring in without instalments.

Chelsea are United's biggest rivals for Junior Dropp, with some rumours preferring United to return to Manchester, but others suggesting he intends to play for Enzo Maresca (Chelsea boss). Delap, who has scored 12 Premier League goals and provided two assists this season, will be hoping to decide his next destination ahead of the Under-21 European Championship in mid-June.

United have also been linked with a potential third striker signing, with Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo already in talks with the Reds over a potential transfer in the summer window, according to talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian winger has attracted a lot of interest by scoring in both legs of the Cherries' two-legged double against Manchester United this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 35 Premier League games. There was no liquidated damages clause in Semen, which Bournemouth put in a price tag of £50 million.

Semenyo was born in London and has English nationality, but chose to play for Ghana in Africa. Semen is able to play as a left and right winger, with Bournemouth spending just £10 million to bring him in from Bristol City, with his contract only expiring in 2029. The possibility of Manchester United bringing in Semenjo is not very big at the moment, unless Rajue can sell Rashford, Sancho and Antony at the ideal price, and sell 20-year-old Garnacho and 22-year-old Hojlund to buy the striker.
