Following their 1-0 loss to their fierce Scandinavian rivals, Sweden, Denmark finds themselves in a difficult spot before facing Germany at the Women's Euro tonight.

Denmark will not advance to the quarter-finals if they lose to Germany and Sweden avoids defeat against Poland but that could be a significant challenge for Andree Jeglertz's team, as the Germans, who are among the favorites to win the tournament, defeated Denmark easily 3-0 in their last encounter during a Nations League match in December 2023.

Germany started their campaign confidently, winning 2-0 against Poland in St. Gallen with two goals in the second half.

Jule Brand opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with an unstoppable shot from outside the box, and she also assisted Lea Schuller to extend Germany's lead.

Germany has now achieved six consecutive victories, scoring a total of 26 goals in that span. Additionally, Christian Wuck's team has kept four clean sheets in their last five matches.

Denmark has experienced success in the recent history of the European Championships, reaching the semi-finals in 2013 and finishing as runners-up to the Netherlands in 2017.

However, they struggled to replicate that form in 2022, facing an early exit after being eliminated in the group stages of the tournament.

The Danes fought hard but could not overcome Filippa Angeldal’s second-half goal, which left them empty-handed in their opening match against Sweden.

Jeglertz's team will be eager to boost their morale going into the match, having lost three of their last four international games, which certainly does not inspire confidence ahead of a challenging encounter with the record European champions.

The Germans will face significant challenges for the remainder of the tournament, as captain Giulia Gwinn suffered a medial cruciate ligament injury in the opening game, which may lead to Carlotte Wamser stepping in as right back against Denmark.

Josefine Hasbo is a potential option if Jeglertz decides to reorganize his midfield, which struggled against Sweden, while Signe Bruun could be given a chance to shine in the Danish attack against a well-organized German defense.

Predicted team line-ups:

Germany:Berger; Linder, Knaak, Minge, Wamser; Nüsken, Senß; Bühl, Dallmann, Brand; Schüller

Misses next match if booked: None

Denmark: Ostergaard; Veje, Ballisager, Faerge; S Holmgaard, Snerle, K Holmgaard, Thogersen; Harder, Vangsgaard, Thomsen

Misses next match if booked: Snerle
