"He isn't part of our group yet," Arteta informed reporters in Singapore regarding Sporting Lisbon's Swedish forward ahead of preseason matches against AC Milan and Newcastle United this week.
"And I don't have anything specific to present to any player who isn't part of the group yet," he continued.
English Premier League Arsenal has thus far acquired Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, Christian Norgaard from Brentford, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and, most recently, Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
Arteta is still aiming to strengthen his attacking options, with Arsenal reportedly proposing a deal valued at £70 million ($94 million) for the prolific Gyokeres, who netted 54 goals in 52 matches in Portugal last season.
"There's still plenty of time in the transfer window, and we are still pursuing the numbers," Arteta stated
"We are lacking depth, and we need to enhance the quality and depth of the squad.
"But for now, I'm concentrating on the players we currently have, and I'm very satisfied with what I've observed so far."
Arteta is acutely aware that Arsenal has not claimed the Premier League title since 2004 and that his squad must improve after finishing second in each of the last three seasons.
"I don't need to persuade (the players) about winning the Premier League. I know their capabilities, and we all aspire to take the next step," Arteta remarked.
"Our responsibility is to position ourselves in the best competitive stance to achieve our objective. That's our individual duty," he added.
The North London team will face AC Milan in Singapore on Wednesday, followed by a match against fellow Premier League team Newcastle on Sunday.
