On Wednesday, Manchester United's first training session at the Chicago Fire's training facility — the Endeavors Health Performance Center — lasted a lengthy two and a half hours. The following day's training was reduced by about an hour, and Amorim did not schedule any extra practice. On Friday, they held an open training session at Soldier Field, the home ground of the Chicago Fire, where the head coach attended the pre-match press conference with new signing Cunha on Saturday.

Sources indicate that the team's initial impressions of Cunha and Mbemo are positive, describing both as well-mannered and adaptable individuals who have injected new energy into the squad. Amorim is satisfied with the current state of the team and anticipates that there will be no new striker signings before the start of the new season. Manchester United's two key figures, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox, accompanied the team to the U.S., so no transfer activity is expected this weekend.
Manchester United has not completely ruled out the possibility of bringing in a new striker but will assess whether it is feasible. Rashford's loan to Barcelona has provided the club with more financial flexibility for transfers, but selling more players to raise transfer fees remains a necessary prerequisite.
Amorim has publicly stated that he can cope without a new number 9 joining before the new season. However, his self-proclaimed "happiness" appears quite reluctant, as Liverpool has signed Ekitike and may also acquire Isak; Chelsea has taken Liam Delap and secured João Pedro; Arsenal is set to bring in Højlund, while Newcastle United will aggressively pursue Šeško if they lose Isak. Manchester City hasn’t signed a forward, but they already have scorers like Haaland and Mahrez.
Regarding Manchester United's attacking line, Amorim remarked: "Cunha and Mbemo can both play as forwards, and we also have Joshua (Zirkzee) and Rasmus (Højlund). So our focus is on improving their connections. I’m not sure if their positions are suitable; they need to work hard. Other players are also vying for that position. But I’m really satisfied because Cunha and Mbemo have proven themselves with goals, and they are genuinely humble, which is very important."

Amorim explained: "The best thing is that they chose to come to Manchester United; they had other options, such as joining teams in the Champions League. They surely read the opinions about our club, but they still chose here, which is crucial for me."
The Manchester United manager confirmed that he hopes to acquire players with Premier League experience, like Cunha and Mbemo. "I think if you look at our team from last year, we need experienced players. Cunha is still young but already has experience. And you see every weekend that Cunha performs well against Premier League opponents, which can give you more certainty when selecting players."
He continued to elaborate on the necessity of acquiring Premier League players: "This is a strategy we are trying to adopt this season, so I can say yes, it’s not just because they have the characteristics that Manchester United needs, but we are focused on players who can handle the pressures of the Premier League from day one."
Amorim also hopes for the development of young players, such as publicly urging 20-year-old Manchester United academy star Kobbie Mainoo to improve his pace and speed of ball control. The highly praised Mainoo in his first season struggled with injuries and a lack of opportunities last season. With the addition of two signings worth £133 million, he has less space in the number 10 role and may only compete for time in central midfield.

"I believe he can play in two positions, midfield and the forward role he played more last season. I think his ideal position is close to the ball, getting involved more." Amorim analyzed, "He is very talented; you know his abilities better than I do. But I think he needs to improve his pace and speed. I always communicate with him because he sometimes performs well, but he can do better. So I have big plans, and I want to emphasize that, as I said, with one match a week, the competition will be very intense, and everyone must be ready to play as a starter or substitute. This is a key point for our season's success or failure."
