Ten Hag is sad to get out of class! Manchester United's 17 million compensation was to no avail, and he returned to his hometown alone to find comfort for his parents

According to The Sun, Erik ten Hag was devastated by the dismissal of Manchester United, so he left his wife and children behind and returned to his hometown alone to seek comfort from his parents. Ten Hag was photographed returning to the Netherlands alone on a private jet after being sacked by Manchester United on Monday, hugging a female staff member at the airport to see him off.

Ten Hag is said to have flown a Cessna light plane from Manchester to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, before then hitchhiking to his hometown of Aldenzar, the final destination of the 500-mile journey. It was a town of just 31,000 inhabitants, including Ten Hag's extended family and his parents.

The Daily Mail reports that Ten Hag's parents, Henny and Jock, took him on a tour of the family's £1 million modern three-storey, five-bedroom villa to console him. During their time in charge of Manchester United, Ten Hag and his wife Bianca would often return to town to cycle and relieve the stress of life as managers of the Premier League giants.

According to British media, Ten Hag's wife Bianca and their three children are currently still in Cheshire, waiting to be processed for the move, and then they will return to the Netherlands.

According to friends and neighbours, Aldenzar is where Ten Hag feels most comfortable, where he can move around undisturbed. Ten Hag's hometown is a slow-paced village with bicycles as the main mode of transport and pedestrian streets in the city centre.

A neighbor said: "It's not surprising that Eric came to visit Henny and Jock, they are a close-knit family and his parents are very proud of him and very supportive. In fact, everyone around Aldenzar is proud of him and has a lot of respect for Ten Hag. It's a place where he can relax and have his own privacy, which I'm sure is very different from what he experienced in Manchester, and that's why he's coming back so soon."

A local owner said: "Most people know Eric because he was the manager of Ajax and when he was in charge of Manchester United, he caused a sensation. The dismissal was not a surprise because the result was terrible, but a lot of people sympathized with him. Manchester United are not doing well, but his return is still very welcome."

A third resident said, "He likes it because no one bothers him. A lot of people are watching his every move because Manchester United is a big club and we've heard about everything they do. Of course, living in the UK doesn't give him the opportunity to spend a lot of time here, but when he comes here, he doesn't get disturbed and can relax."

Friend Hans Clay Jr. dismissed the suggestion that Ten Hag would be satisfied with the €17 million in compensation for his dismissal, instead saying that the dismissal had brought Ten Hag to a devastation. "As far as I know, he got 17 million euros, but people say he's excited, that's wrong, he's completely destroyed, he's completely broken." "You don't think about money at the moment, that's later. I don't think I have to call him tomorrow and ask, can you still make ends meet, can you still buy food, daily necessities? Not like that, but now he's bothered."

Old Trafford insiders say Ten Hag was surprised by his decision to step down as he has withstood scrutiny from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS in the summer and during the previous two international competitions, and considers his two-year success to be a great success.

United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy also revealed how he felt when he spoke to Ten Hag: 'He was very disappointed and very emotional, and I really felt that he loved and cared about the club. He wants to lead the club forward, that's why we're connected and that's why it's sad for him to have to leave, but he's also proud of the club's achievements in winning two trophies."

Ruud van Nistelrooy thinks Ten Hag is unlucky, but the results are not as good as they could be. "However, in the end in football, the result is obviously the key, and Eric said that. We brought in a new manager before the season and everything is very positive and everyone is trying to move the club forward. However, sometimes there are things you can't explain. I remember the goal we scored against Brighton and it was ruled offside and then it was 1-2. In a lot of games against Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Fenerbahce and Porto, we could have achieved better results, but professional football is only about results and that's our duty."
