Tottenham is set to speed up their transfer plans as they adapt to James Maddison's injury and Son Heung-min's imminent departure.

The club aims to finalize a deal for an attacking midfielder within the next week.

We recently disclosed on Flashscore how the pre-season tour in Asia might turn into a farewell for Son - which became evident when he announced his intention to leave the club.

Son played his last match on Sunday - ahead of a proposed transfer to Los Angeles - and the news of a club legend departing is always hard to accept, even if it was anticipated.

They are also considering a potentially serious knee injury to Maddison as a result of the same game against Newcastle, further intensifying the focus on their transfer activities.

Mohammed Kudus has been signed for £55 million and Joao Palhinha is arriving on loan - but Spurs missed out on another key target, Morgan Gibbs-White and need to bring in new creative talent.

Among the targets is Stuttgart's attacking midfielder Enzo Millot. He is one of the players they have been evaluating in recent weeks, although competition for his signature comes from several other top European clubs - including Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham has also looked at Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo while Bilal El-Khannouss has been contemplating his future in the past week, and Spurs are also interested.

Leeds and Aston Villa are among the clubs that have inquired about the Leicester City player, but his creative flair and ability to find space in dangerous areas are very appealing to Tottenham as well.

Spurs want to avoid getting involved in bidding wars to secure good value deals. This has become more challenging now that selling clubs recognize they need to make a signing.

They have also considered an elite player, including Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig.

Eberechi Eze has a release clause at Crystal Palace that could be activated, and they have been urged to reach out soon if they wish to trigger it.

The club has continued to explore the market with players like Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott also being informally considered as they search for solutions.

In advanced positions, they have also looked at a flair player - such as Jack Grealish and Alejandro Garnacho - and sources believe it is likely they will end up signing another player with game-changing abilities in that wide area.

This is a crucial time of summer as Spurs strive to be fully prepared for the upcoming season.
