Bitter enmity! Ter Stegen refuses to authorize the submission of his medical report, hindering Barcelona's registration of new signings.

A key player in one of the top five leagues returns from injury only to find that his starting position is gone, and even his rotation spot has vanished. This scenario has unfolded for Barcelona's 33-year-old German goalkeeper, Ter Stegen.

According to the front-page news from Spanish media outlet "Mundo Deportivo" on August 5, Barcelona's goalkeeper Ter Stegen has refused to authorize the club to submit his medical report to La Liga, which has led the club to contemplate disciplinary measures against him.

Ter Stegen underwent surgery on his back last month and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period in the upcoming season. Sources close to the player have revealed that Ter Stegen has declined to sign the medical consent form. This refusal directly prevents Barcelona from submitting his injury report to the La Liga medical committee, making it impossible to accurately assess the duration of his absence due to injury.

Why is Ter Stegen acting this way? It seems he has completely fallen out with Barcelona and wants to create trouble for the club. According to La Liga regulations, if a player is injured for more than four months, 80% of their salary can be allocated to salary registration space. Ter Stegen's actions appear to be an attempt to prevent Barcelona from registering new signings due to his injury.

In response, Barcelona has stated that Ter Stegen has the right to refuse to disclose his medical information; however, according to the contract, if a player fails to comply with a series of obligations and rules that cause significant harm to the club, Barcelona has the right to impose disciplinary action on Ter Stegen, which could also lead to legal consequences.

In my personal opinion, while Barcelona may not have handled the situation gracefully, Ter Stegen's behavior comes off as unprofessional. It seems he is likely not interested in participating in the 2026 World Cup or continuing his career, as professional athletes should at least maintain professionalism.
