Guardiola has sidelined the Manchester City record signing, who was brought in for €118 million but is now valued at €28 million, sending him to Everton with a financial contribution.

The latest report from Italian transfer expert Romano states that Manchester City's record signing, 29-year-old English winger Grealish, will be loaned to Everton for a season, with a medical scheduled for August 11 local time.

According to British media The Paper, Everton will bear the majority of Grealish's salary during the loan. Grealish's weekly wage is £300,000, with Manchester City covering £50,000 and Everton covering £250,000 during the loan. This loan deal will cost Everton £12 million.

As reported by The Athletic, Grealish's loan agreement includes a buyout option valued at approximately £50 million.

Grealish, who came through the Aston Villa youth academy, joined Manchester City in the summer transfer window of 2021 for a fee of €118 million, making him the record signing in the club's history. At that time, Grealish was valued at €65 million, and Manchester City significantly overpaid for him. However, Grealish's style did not fit with Guardiola's tactics, leading to limited playing time and a decline in his competitive form. Over his four-year career at Manchester City, Grealish made 157 appearances, contributing 17 goals and 23 assists, and helped the team win one Champions League, three Premier League titles, one Club World Cup, and one FA Cup.

At 29 years old, Grealish stands 1.80 meters tall, is a right-footed player primarily playing as a left winger, but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or left midfielder. His market value has fallen to €28 million. Last season, Grealish made 32 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions, starting only 16 times, totaling 1,521 minutes on the pitch with 3 goals and 5 assists; in the Premier League, he appeared 20 times, starting only 7, totaling 715 minutes with 1 goal and 1 assist. In the 2025 Club World Cup, Guardiola began to exclude Grealish from the lineup, leaving the player with no choice but to leave the club to regain playing time.
