On August 12, Beijing time, the fourth competition day of the Chengdu World University Games has concluded, with 22 gold medals decided. The Chinese team surged to a gold-winning peak, securing 3 golds in a single day. Consequently, the latest medal table shows a significant shift, with China leading with 14 golds, Germany dropping to second, Italy in third, and Ukraine in fourth. Only China and Germany have double-digit gold counts!

On the previous competition day, we secured 3 golds, tying Germany with 11 golds, but our total medal count was lower than theirs, placing us second. However, on the fourth competition day, we won another 3 golds, achieving a record of medals for four consecutive days. These golds came from women's 4×50m surface relay in fin swimming, women's dynamic apnea FFS1-FFS2, and men's dynamic apnea FFS1-FFS2 events. Thus, we successfully claimed the top position in the gold medal tally for this competition day. After four days of effort, we surpassed last edition's leader, Germany, which is truly exciting. However, we currently lead Germany by just 1 gold, so the advantage is not substantial. We will continue to strive for more golds to solidify our lead, especially since we have the home advantage!

Germany also performed excellently, being a strong team in the World University Games. Their ability to compete for gold and silver is very strong, and they have also won gold on four consecutive competition days, with counts of 4 golds, 4 golds, 3 golds, and 2 golds. Their momentum is declining, which has caused them to lose the top position. Moreover, they have also lost the first place in the medal tally, overtaken directly by Italy. It must be said that Germany is in a bit of a tough spot, losing both top positions in one competition day, currently ranked second!
